The University of Findlay will host its 15th annual Spring Horse Sale on Saturday at the university Western Farm’s Dale Wilkinson Arena, 14700 U.S. 68, south of Findlay.
Demonstrations will begin at 10 a.m. and the sale will start at noon.
The annual sale follows the Clark Bradley Pleasure Futurity, held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, in which the program’s seniors take their 2-year-old futurity prospects through a western pleasure class.
Many of these 2-year-olds will then be presented in the sale and are sired by high-caliber horses such as Extremely Hot Chips and Lazy Loper.
Organized by the university’s equine marketing class, the annual Spring Horse Sale features approximately 60 horses, including western pleasure and all-around prospects, as well as reining, hunter under saddle, western riding, trail, ranch riding, and quiet lesson/4-H horses.
Proceeds go toward scholarships and the purchase of new prospects for students to work with during the coming year.
