Riding with HEART, Hunterdon Equine Assisted Recreation and Therapy, is seeking donations of new and gently used horse tack, equestrian clothing and barn/farm equipment for its Fall Tack Sale fundraiser at its Pittstown farm. The sale is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 31 from noon to 3 p.m. On Sunday, most items will be half price.
Donated items needed for the sale include English, Western and dressage saddles, as well as tack trunks, bridles, sheets, blankets, flysheets, saddle pads, riding breeches, jackets, saddle racks, hay racks, buckets — or, “basically any gear” for the horse, rider, barn, or farm, even fencing supplies and horse trailers. Horse-themed household items are also appreciated. All donations are tax deductible.
Donations may be brought to the Riding with HEART farm, 639 County Road 513 (two miles west of the Pittstown traffic light). Drop-off hours are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. Those looking to contribute should call 908-735-5912 prior to drop off. Email tacksale@ridingwithheart.org to arrange a different drop-off time or to coordinate a pick-up for large donations within an hour drive.
All tack sale proceeds benefit the nonprofit’s therapeutic programs and horses.
