PIERZ — Pierz Healy High School students Macy Hoffman, Jazmin Virnig, Kaylee Pulak, Andrew Morris and Kaylee Woitalla recently qualified for state competition in FFA Horse Judging.

Student contestants evaluate halter classes, which include Quarter Horse, Conformation Hunter, Appaloosa, Arabian, Paint and Morgan; or they evaluate performance classes, which may include Western Pleasure, Western Riding (Pattern One), reining, English Pleasure (Saddle Seat), Hunter Under Saddle (Hunt Seat), and Hunter Hack. They have to identify tack equipment.

This year, due to COVID-19, the students participated virtually. The students used livestockjudging.com to better their skills at conformation judging.
