The race has been split into two divisions and will be run as the 11th and 13th race on the 14-race card. The undefeated Charlatan has been installed as the even-money favorite in the first division for trainer Bob Baffert and will have Martin Garcia aboard as he makes his stakes debut. Baffert will also saddle the favorite in the second division as Nadal, undefeated from three starts, has been tabbed at 5-2 odds on the morning line. A two-time graded stakes winner, the son of Blame will be ridden by Joel Rosario.
Gulfstream Park has three stakes races scheduled for Saturday – the $75,000 Honey Ryder Stakes, the $75,000 English Channel Stakes and the featured event of the day, the $100,000 Big Drama Stakes. The Big Drama Stakes, a seven-furlong contest restricted to horses bred in Florida, has drawn a field of eight including the graded-stakes placed Network Effect.
