CARTERSVILLE, GA — The Booth Western Art Museum will borrow a page — a whole book, actually — from Dr. Seuss this summer when it invites young people to explore its equine-themed art as part of the “Horse Museum.”

Published in 2019, “Horse Museum” is based on an unfinished manuscript by the late Theodor Geisel — aka Dr. Seuss — that leads students through a museum to view horse-related artwork. The book was illustrated by Andrew Joyner.

The Booth’s Horse Museum program, to be conducted May 24-July 29, promises much the same thing. According to its social media page, kids can “learn how color, line and shape influence artists” and see “the museum through the eyes of Dr. Seuss.”

As part of The Booth’s Saddle Up Summer, the “Horse Museum” program is designed for day care or summer camp groups ages 5-12, with age-appropriate activities available for older kids. A minimum of 10 participants per group is required, with admission $6 per person and one adult free for every 10 children. Each program is 90 minutes.
