Lowndes County 4-H horse riding participants recently participated in the 2021 Northeast Regional 4-H Horse Show on June 10-12, in Verona, and the State 4-H Horse Show, on June 23-26, at the Kirk Fordice Equine Center in Jackson. Seven youth participated in various riding events such as hunter under saddle, halter events, goat tying, pony cart and speed events.

Names, events and placings are:

■ Jordan McWilliams: Regional show — Hunter Under Saddle, fourth place; Goat Tying, fourth place; Halter- Registered quarter horse mares, fifth place; Registered Paint Mares, second place and Reserve Champion; Barrel Racing, eighth place; Stake Race, seventh place. State championships — Hunter Under Saddle, sixth place; Registered Paint Mares, second place.

■ Harlie Humbers: Regional show — Grade Western geldings, seventh place; Open Miniature geldings, second place and reserve champion.

■ Eli Cantrell: Regional show — Registered Other Breeds mares, first place and grand champion.
