With three public riding schools in Tuen Mun, Pok Fu Lam and Lei Yue Mun, The Hong Kong Jockey Club offers riding lessons for all ages in both Cantonese and English. Group classes of 5-6 students are first colour-coded, then grouped according to their horse riding level.
The Pok Fu Lam location is by far one of the most popular riding schools in Hong Kong due to its convenient location. Built in 1978, this riding facility spans over 2,000 m², with one outdoor and indoor floodlit sand arena, thirty-three barn style boxes in the two-storey stable.
If you’re willing to travel to the New Territories, The Tuen Mun Public Riding School is worth the extra effort. Located on the eastern side of Hong Kong Island, Lei Yue Mun Public Riding School takes up 4,000m² of space on the hillside. While visitors have noted that this location is on the smaller size, the facilities and trainers here are on par with the other locations.
