WINSTED — Winsted Trails, a NWCT YMCA program dedicated to building and promoting community through trail development, invites residents and their dogs to join in a walking tour of Downtown Winsted to honor “Wolfenoot” on Saturday.
Wolfenoot is a holiday envisioned by an 8-year-old New Zealand boy in 2018 which, according to https://wolfenoot.com/, is “when the Spirit of the Wolf brings and hides small gifts around the house for everyone. People who have, have had, or are kind to dogs get better gifts than anyone else. You eat roast meat (because wolves eat meat) and cake decorated like a full moon.”
The approximately one hour long “Wolfenoot Walk” will start at the municipal parking lot on Meadow Street at Lake Street in Winsted at 3:30 pm and end up at Little Red Barn Brewers, 32 Lake Street. Treats and prizes will be awarded to the first 12 dogs to arrive, and human guests will receive a complementary “Moon cookie”. The Singing Sliders Food Truck will be on hand with food available for purchase and Little Red Barn has pledged that $1.00 from every pint of Rescue Red purchased on Saturday and Sunday will be donated to Desmond’s Army. Volunteers from Desmond’s Army will be on hand as well to answer any questions.
