Kristiina Thums of Finland has been crowned the 2019-20 Princess of the Western Saddle Clubs Association. The WSCA is a nonprofit organization that promotes equestrian activities, good horsemanship and sportsmanship. WSCA also supports 4-H and other youth programs and operates a scholarship program.

WSCA hosts an annual championship horse show in St. Paul that boasts 70 classes over four days with more than 7,000 entries.

As a member of the Royal Court, Thums will represent the WSCA over the next year at various community events as well as compete with her horse, Catcher, at horse shows. She is a music education major at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, maintains a 4.0 grade-point average and is a member of the symphonic band, chamber winds, concert choir and orchestra.
